Comments on Locality Data

Under Type Material, the collection site for P. layroni is indicated as "Panay Island, Antique, Madajaas" (page 74, reference 1). The paper did not describe what this "Madajaas" refers to. In the province of Antique, there is no municipality named Madajaas. There is, however, a popular area in the province called Mt. Madjaas.

The paper has also presented a distribution map that was "drawn using the software ArcGis 10" (page 66, reference 1). The dot in the map indicating the distribution of P. layroni covers four municipalities (page 68, reference 1). Mt. Madjaas is not located in any of these four municipalities.

Since the paper did not discuss what this "Madajaas" refers to, the distribution data for this particular species becomes confusing. This is discussed in detail in the post on the Probable distribution of P. felipeae.
